Mixed-Race YouTuber Couple Endure Racist Comments From Old Korean Woman
YouTubers Joy (Korean) and Chan (British) recently shared the discrimination they faced at a tteokbokki stall. Upon the couple entering saying “hello,” the old woman running the stall said nothing.
When Joy asked a question about the food portion, the woman responded by swearing.

Joy was confused and thought the woman’s behavior may have been a “concept.” However, as more people entered, the woman greeted everyone politely.
She right away told them, ‘Hi, what would you like to eat?’ very politely.

When Joy asked for the total, the woman responded again with an extremely rude remark.

Joy noted that there was no price written.
The woman continued to mumble curses under her breath directed at Joy.
Chan shared that when the woman initially saw Joy, she had a normal reaction. However, the moment Chan walked in behind her, the woman glared at the two of them.
