Filipino ARMY Supports BTS With Anti-Cyberbullying “Purple Walk Of Love” Event
Filipino ARMYs dressed in BTS‘s signature color gathered to show support for the group and combat cyberbullying.
BTS’s Suga is currently at the center of a drunk driving controversy. On the night of August 6, police escorted the rapper to a nearby police station after he fell from an electric scooter he had driven while intoxicated. The police investigation into Suga’s DUI case has ended, and it has now been forwarded to the prosecution.
“The Purple Walk of Love: You Never Walk Alone” event, organized by over fifty Filipino BTS ARMY fanbases, took place on September 8 across multiple locations in the Philippines.
According to a document created for the event, this “community healing walk” was organized to support BTS, fight disinformation, raise awareness on the importance of media literacy to prevent cyberbullying, and raise money for Kaibigan Chat Line (a provider of accessible mental health and psychosocial support for youth).
The event also gave ARMYs the opportunity to connect with each other in person and educate themselves about cyberbullying via a short program provided by the event organizers.
Thousands of Filipino ARMYs across the country gathered for the community healing walk, "The Purple Walk of Love: You Never Walk Alone," to show their unwavering support for #SUGA!
