BTS Merchandise Spotted In Cocaine Crime Documentary
Given that BTS has over 48 million followers on X alone, it’s safe to say that ARMYs can be found just about anywhere in the world. That said, most ARMYs probably wouldn’t expect to meet a fellow fan in the Peruvian jungle…during a drug trafficking operation.
On July 28, VICE released a documentary called “Terror & Cocaine in the Peruvian Jungle.” The documentary dives headfirst into Peru’s cocaine industry, which is expanding to the Amazon lowlands and the Brazilian border. According to VICE, this expansion is “creating a new wave of violence for indigenous tribes who are refusing to work with the cartel.”
Throughout the documentary, VICE interviews drug traffickers, who give insight into this dangerous and illegal industry. Shortly before the halfway mark, traffickers inform VICE that their film crew needs to leave the jungle sunrise because it was “really suspicious” for them to keep hanging around.
The documentary then cuts to a clip of the traffickers transporting cocaine through the jungle. One is wearing a backpack with BTS’s name and shield logo printed on it.
Eagle-eyed netizens were quick to spot (and comment on) this unexpected merch…

…which doesn’t necessarily indicate that the trafficker is a die-hard stan. The backpack isn’t official merchandise, but rather a knockoff.
