Beloved Actor’s Sudden Passing Leads To 30-Year-Younger Wife’s Shocking Death Days Later
The Hong Kong entertainment industry is in mourning after the death of renowned martial arts star Norman Chui, who passed away at 73 from esophageal cancer on September 1 in Beijing. Norman’s passing has come as a shock to his fans and colleagues alike, as it was reported he was unaware of his illness.
The shock deepened when it was revealed that Norman’s wife — a 43-year-old dancer — also passed away just days after his death.
Tin Kai Man, a veteran actor and spokesperson for the Hong Kong Film Workers Association, confirmed the news and expressed his sorrow over Norman’s sudden death. He also shed light on how the wife’s demise came to be. While arranging his funeral, she unfortunately suffered a fatal heart attack and died.
After [Norman] passed away, his wife took charge of the funeral arrangements. In China, the cremation process has to be done within a few days. While handling the funeral, she started feeling unwell and she too passed away, possibly due to a heart attack. Now, their daughter is handling the arrangements.

The couple, who were married for nearly 20 years, shared two children – a daughter and an 11-year-old son.
Norman’s wife, his third, was 30 years younger than him. Although little is known about her public life, her sudden passing has left their daughter to manage the funeral arrangements.
Norman’s career took off in the 1970s and 1980s, with standout roles in TV shows like The Sword of the Third Young Master and Reincarnated. He later solidified his legacy with a role in the 1992 film King of Beggars.
In addition to his career, Norman had a complicated personal life, including a well-known relationship with actress Shirley Yim, with whom he shared two children from outside his marriage. Despite the ups and downs, his contributions to the entertainment world are celebrated, leaving behind a legacy marked by both professional and personal milestones.
