Previously, BTS‘s RM bewildered fans when he archived most of his Instagram posts.

Now, RM has seemingly unarchived all his posts on both accounts, as his feed now contains a lot of content. Naturally, many ARMYs are excited that the posts have been restored.

Yet, some are curious about why RM decided to do this, and some are attempting to connect the dots. What follows is one wild theory that’s been gaining some traction amongst fans…

Recently, RM celebrated his 30th birthday, and many ARMYs noticed that among the photos he shared that day was one with a man covered by a ghost emoji.

RM used to post photos with a man but always concealed his identity by covering his face with an emoji. Some ARMYs speculated that they were more than friends until an alleged breakup. Many ARMYs don’t think it was a coincidence that RM’s last two solo albums both contained angry lyrics and what many felt were breakup songs while also archiving his posts. It was giving breakup energy.

So, some ARMYs fear that RM might have taken the alleged ex back.

The theory is that the suspected ex-boyfriend wished him a happy birthday, and they reconnected, triggering RM to unarchive the memories made together.

Yet, other ARMYs are pointing out that RM actually unarchived his posts long ago. So, these speculations are groundless.

RM has also never publicly come out as gay, so speculation of that kind is also groundless at this time. His private life remains private as it should unless he chooses to share.
