On September 19, a post titled “Is MEOVV Playing Right Now?” quickly garnered views. In the post, a netizen laments over MEOVV’s lack of promotions. The group recently debuted earlier this month.

They debuted on September 6, but their 3rd music show appearance is on September 22, lol. That’s a mistake. Are they contractually limited or something? Why aren’t they promoting on music shows? This is f@cking sad… Ha… Is there another group that is as inactive? Did this happen with BLACKPINK’s debut as well? I’m seriously curious. Seeing the music video sets and music show sets are some of the best part of being a fan…

Netizens reacted to the post by criticizing the group for being pretentious as if they were above music shows. Many netizens noted that this wasn’t anything new as YG Entertainment’s artists have been known for their lack of promotional appearances.

  • “They are acting like they are too good for music shows, lol. BABYMONSTER did the same thing and they are now being forgotten.”
  • “YG artists are like that. When BIGBANG, 2NE1, and BLACKPINK did it, no one said anything because they were so popular, but their new artists aren’t, yet they continue to do this.”
  • “But will they market MEOVV in the same way they marketed BLACKPINK with luxury brands? I thought it was weird when in one scene a member shows off a Chanel hairpin, lol.”
  • “Being mysterious works only if your song is good. If that isn’t the case, they should be promoting as much as possible and make appearances on TV shows.”
  • “Whatever the case is, I wish they’d stop promoting them on Instagram. I’m so tired of seeing them all over my feed.”

What are your thoughts? The group recently debuted with their single “MEOW.” You can watch the group’s music video for the song in the link below.
