The Time IU Straight Up Asked Why She Wasn’t Invited To BTS J-Hope’s Party

IU didn’t hold back.

BTS‘s J-Hope shocked fans when he appeared on the YouTube series IU’s Palette, which is hosted by K-Pop soloist IU. The promotions for his album Jack In The Box weren’t been as much as BTS’s promotions, but he chose to appear on IU’s show, and netizens couldn’t get enough.

During the episode, the duo touched upon different topics like their albums, J-Hope’s songs, and they even performed a couple duets. For many, it was a collaboration that netizens didn’t realize they needed so much until it was released, especially because IU had previously worked with Suga.

In particular, J-Hope revealed that although he seems extroverted and confident, he doesn’t have many “Musician” friends aside from the other members of BTS.

Yes, of course, the members. But in reality, I don’t have a lot of people around me. I don’t know many artists So, there aren’t many other featured artists in my album.

He then shared that because of his “introverted personality,” he really stepped out of his comfort zone when he decided to host a listening party for the album.

So one of my new challenges has been to host a Listening Party. The reason I decided to is to let people know what kind of musician I am and maybe hand around my name-card.

Although the video was shot before the party, netizens know it was one of the hottest events of the year, attended by what seems like the entire K-Pop industry.

The members also seemed to dance the night away. In videos, they were enjoying the music and socializing with everyone at the party, including in the photo booth.

Yet, it seems like there was one person who wasn’t invited, and it was none other than IU. During the episode, IU asked J-Hope, “As the host of the party, why didn’t you invite me?”

When IU said that, J-Hope suddenly got very flustered as he tried to come up with an excuse. Unsurprisingly, J-Hope explained that he did want IU to attend, and the captions joked that J-Hope was “Making excuses faster than rapping.”

I really wanted to but didn’t know how…

IU then asked if she would’ve been allowed in if she wanted to, and J-Hope explained that he actually wanted to invite her. If IU would’ve attended, the interactions with the BTS members would’ve definitely broken the internet.

IU: Would I have gotten in if I wanted to?

J-Hope: Of course, I wanted to invite you.

IU then joked that J-Hope should definitely invite her to the next one and added that she would even go to the salon in preparation!

When the video was released, netizens couldn’t get over just how direct IU was and the reaction of J-Hope when he was trying to explain what happened.

Now that IU and J-Hope are acquainted, hopefully, IU won’t be a stranger at future BTS events because this video proved that any interactions would be truly iconic. In fact, Suga and V both showed up at IU’s most recent concert in Seoul, held on September 22.
