Recently, SM Entertainment partnered with Amore Pacific and released SM artist lightstick lip balms.
This collaboration garnered much attention from fans as it was an innovative product that many fans would want to add to their collection. For this collaboration, they released three versions:

However, fans felt that the pricing of the lip balm would be the biggest factor in whether or not they would purchase the product.
On September 23, the product officially dropped online and the price was revealed.
Many fans were shocked at the price of 23,000 KRW ($~17.21 USD) as it did not come with a photo card or anything else.
The only offer they had was a limited edition lip balm mini bag for fans who bought two or more lip balms.
Most fans were not excited about the price and felt that it was too much even if it was a collaboration item.
- “I’m sad they didn’t add a photo card. I had a feeling the price point would be that much..but the case doesn’t look like it would be 10,000 KRW.”
- “I’m not buying it.”
- “If you buy two, it’s almost the same price as a regular light stick. I didn’t anticipate much but I can’t believe it costs over 20,000 KRW.”
- “I would’ve just bought it if it was 30,000 KRW and included a photo card…but having nothing and being over 20,000 KRW is a bit…”
- “They’re not even giving any photo cards?”
- “With this price, I’d rather buy another photo card…it’s a dilemma.”
- “I guess they made it this price because they know people will still buy it.”
- “Most SM fans probably anticipated this price.”
- “I was anticipating around 10,000 KRW but the front number is a 2.”
- “This is too much..not buying it.”
- “I did think it would be around the 20,000 KRW mark.”
- “I had a feeling it would be expensive because of the quality but man.”
- “Can you believe it’s 26,000 KRW with shipping?”
