The fan shared part of their story.

Beloved singer and K-Drama actor Seo In Guk successfully held his first-ever U.S. fanmeeting last week, with an event in Los Angeles and another in Washington, D.C.

At the Washington D.C. fanmeeting on Saturday, Seo In Guk answered some fan questions. One fan selected to ask a question revealed that they had been a fan of Seo In Guk since his debut on the Mnet singing competition show Superstar K in 2009, in which he won the show’s first season.

Seo In Guk’s fan explained that they were an 8-year-old girl at the time, and now they are 25 years old and have transitioned and come out as bisexual. The fan briefly opened up about their transition journey, explaining how Seo In Guk’s choice to portray gay characters in his career meant a lot to them, especially when no one else in their life supported them. So, the fan asked Seo In Guk if he had anything to say to the LGBT+ community.

Although I can never understand the hurt you went through… The fact that you are here communicating with me and the audience, I hope you always find the power within you. Just like I receive love from you all, you have the right to receive love.
