NewJeans’ Hyein Receives Cold Reception From Press, HYBE Accused Of Mediaplay
NewJeans member Hyein recently received cold treatment from the media at the Incheon International Airport.
On September 29, KST, Hyein left for Paris from South Korea to attend Louis Vuitton’s Women’s Spring-Summer 2025 fashion show. Unlike the usual airport appearances of popular idols, she was clicked by only one media outlet, Newsen.
This has struck many netizens as an odd phenomenon. In comparison, BLACKPINK’s Jennie and (G)I-DLE’s Minnie, both of whom left South Korea on the same day around the same time from Incheon, were clicked by numerous media outlets. A user on Instiz pointed out that Jennie’s pictures were taken by eight different outlets, including Newsen, NEWSCULTURE, The Power News, TOPSTARNEWS, TVDaily, Herald Pop, Osen, and MHNSports.
Minnie was also clicked by five different outlets, namely Newsen, TVDaily, Herald Pop, Osen, and MHNSports.
Many accused HYBE of being involved in the unexpectedly cold reception of Hyein by the media at the airport, given the ongoing conflict between the company and the NewJeans members.
