Scooter Braun, a member of HYBE’s Board of Directors and the CEO of HYBE America, is under fire for recent Islamophobic messages.

Over the last year, Scooter Braun has been constantly criticized by fans of multiple HYBE artists for his active role in promoting Zionism amidst Israel’s onslaught on civilian life in the Gaza Strip of Palestine. The hashtag #HYBE_Divest_From_Zionism has consistently been used in hopes of influencing the business to cut ties with Braun.

Fans even protested directly at HYBE’s American offices, protesting Braun in person.

Now, many Muslim fans are feeling alienated by Braun’s recent messages online.

Israel recently began an invasion of Lebanon, claiming it is targeting Hezbollah, an allegedly “Iranian-backed Islamist militant organization and Lebanese political party that has fought Israel since its founding decades ago.” (VOX)

Iran recently retaliated against the killing of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah.

Braun shared posts about the ongoing conflict on his Instagram account, including statements regarded as sensationalism and propaganda.

Some Iranians refer to their government as the Islamic Republic as they feel it does not represent them.

However, though some Iranians do not support the government’s actions, many have seen Scooter’s posts as encouragement for Islamophobia, anti-Arab rhetoric, and the attacks that have killed, harmed, and displaced innocent civilians that have taken place.
