During the recent episode, some of the contestants performed WANNA ONE‘s hit song “Beautiful.”

When the performance was finished, the camera panned to Hongki.

He was the first to give his opinions, and he didn’t hold back as he explained, “If you only focus on image or… only care about appearance, this is not the way to go,” and the contestants seemed shocked by his strictness.

Hongki honestly added, “When I watched your performance, what I felt was that gave me a feeling that as long as I appear handsome, it would be fine.”

When the video was posted, netizens shared how, with years of experience, Hongki was more than qualified to make those comments and were surprised that the contestants thought he was being strict.
