HYBE Family Post Goes Viral For Excluding Popular Artists

Many are confused by the exclusion.

Beginning as BIGHIT Entertainment, HYBE has grown through the years through the success of its artists and its acquisition of other labels. As a result, HYBE boasts an impressive number of active and popular groups under its many labels.

The groups have also been able to interact with each other in various ways, including artists who originally debuted before a label was acquired.

However, a post about the HYBE Family of artists has gone viral because it excluded some popular groups.

On October 2, the CEO of CXO Media, an Indonesian media company, shared a post that included a birthday message and autographs from several groups under HYBE.

Shortly after, she reposted the image with the caption “Thanks, my HYBE Family” on her Instagram story. The images were then reposted to X, which sparked discussions with over 1.1 million views, including how the original poster got the signatures.

Some pointed out that BTS and KATSEYE were not included in the list, but due to their recent activities — enlistment for BTS and non-Korean promotions until recently for KATSEYE — the focus was placed on two other active groups.

Many were not surprised by NewJeans not being included among the artists who gave their autographs, as it is not the first time they have been excluded from HYBE activities.

The second artist, Fromis_9, did surprise many as they are currently active and were included in the HYBE Insight exhibition at the Grammy Museum. While Fromis_9 did debut before Pledis’s acquisition, so did SEVENTEEN, who are included in the image.

Many commented on the exclusion of these two groups even in this manner, criticizing HYBE.
