The song in question is “What Are We,” sung by Ha Sung Woon. The track was released in September by Stone Entertainment Music and garnered quite the attention.

But weeks later, netizens started calling out the similarities between the song and soloist Baek Yerin’s 2019 release, “0310.” Even Baek herself took to Instagram recently to express her disappointment at the plagiarism.

Since Baek Yerin’s story was posted, the situation has become an even bigger controversy, prompting Ha Sung Woon’s agency, Big Planet Made Entertainment, to offer an official clarification. The company addressed the controversy by saying that Ha had no role in composing or writing the song and only participated as the vocalist.

“Ha Sung Woon and Big Planet Made Entertainment were only commissioned by the drama’s OST production company to participate as singers and were not involved in writing the lyrics, composing, or arranging ‘What Are We.’ However, we apologize that the OST sung by Ha Sung Woon was embroiled in a plagiarism controversy that caused concern to fans.”

The company reiterated the lack of involvement of Ha Sung Woon in the alleged plagiarism and hoped that Baek Yerin and the OST producers could resolve the matter amicably.
