SM Entertainment Announces Taeil Has Been Removed From NCT Due To Unspecified Sexual Crime

On October 7, 2024, it was revealed that he was investigated a week ago on charges of special rape. After he was investigated by the Bangbae Police Station, the case went over to the Seoul Central Prosecutors Office. They have yet to summon Taeil.

According to investigations by Chosun, he was taken in for having raped an intoxicated girl with two of his friends. It was noted that his fellow perpetrators were not celebrities or famous people.

Special rape cases refer to when the perpetrator was wielding a weapon, or if two or more people work together to rape someone that is unconscious or has no means of retaliating. If he admits to this charge, he could face more than seven years in jail according to the law.

SM Entertainment briefly commented that “the case is under investigation and it is hard to give a statement at the moment.”
