Former NCT’s Taeil Condemned For “Disgusting” And “Shameless” Behavior Following Latest Bombshell Reveal About His Crimes

Former NCT member Taeil was previously announced to be leaving the group due to a sexual crime. On October 7, 2024 (KST), it was disclosed that he was under investigation for aggravated rape as of a week ago. Following inquiries by the Bangbae Police Station, the case was forwarded to the Seoul Central Prosecutors Office, which has not yet called in Taeil for questioning.

According to Chosun‘s reports, he was apprehended for allegedly raping a girl who was intoxicated alongside two friends. It was mentioned that his accomplices are not celebrities or public figures.

Taeil’s reported charge under investigation is, in Korean, “Special Quasi-Rape.” According to Korean law, the term “special” indicates that it was aggravated—meaning that it either involved weapon(s) or, in his case, more than two people. The term “quasi” indicates that the victim was unconscious and/or unable to resist. His charge in the US would most accurately be referred to as “aggravated rape.”

Many netizens are expressing their “disgust” and “anger” towards the fallen star. According to the statute for aggravated rape cases, aggravated rape refers to instances where the perpetrator was wielding a weapon or if two or more people work together to commit adultery on someone that is unconscious or has no means of rejecting. The fact that the case occurred in June 2024 but was only brought to light in August did not sit right with many, given that he had schedules between those months.
