Fans Slam BigHit Music For “Sabotaging” BTS’s Jungkook After Vital Information Gets Dropped Belatedly

It could’ve been a huge opportunity for him.

It was belatedly reported in the media that BTS‘s Jungkook was originally slated to perform for the halftime show of the NFL Super Bowl in 2024. This was eventually canceled due to this enlistment, leading him to miss the opportunity of a lifetime to become K-Pop’s first ever Super Bowl performance.

The New Yorker Magazine reported on October 7, 2024, that a remix of “Standing Next To You” had been produced in collaboration with Usher and that Jungkook had been invited to perform with Usher at the halftime show. The show was held in February 2024, but Jungkook rejected due to his enlistment in December 2023. Fans are extremely upset as his service could have been postponed in order to meet this schedule. After all, he was born in 1997, and he could postpone his service multiple times until he turns 30.

Fans deduced that the company was trying to send all the members to the military as early as possible to reduce the group’s period of absence by having the members enlist within similar times of each other. RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook were all announced for enlistment in November 2023. The goal would be to have the group fully present by 2025.

Jungkook’s fans have begun trending “HYBE Stop Sabotaging Jungkook” and “Jungkook Leave HYBE” in response to the news.

They feel that while enlistment could have been delayed, his performance at the Super Bowl would have been a once-in-a-lifetime chance for him. It is considered the dream stage for many international artists, having featured top stars such as Michael Jackson, The Rolling Stones, Beyoncé, and more.
