BLACKPINK’s Lisa Alleged Impact On Famous Designer Leaving CELINE
BLACKPINK‘s Lisa was seemingly part of the reason CELINE‘s artistic director left the brand.
When it comes to idols and brands, Lisa was always known for her bond and loyalty to CELINE, which she had been an ambassador of since 2020.
It came as a huge shock when Lisa was seen posting about the brand Louis Vuitton, before becoming an ambassador in July 2024.

Recently, it was announced that Hedi Slimane was leaving CELINE after becoming synonymous with the brand, and someone Lisa has always shown her admiration and respect to.
In an article from the news outlet Challenges, the journalist wrote about the reasons behind Hedi leaving, sharing the relations between Slimane and the CEO of CELINE Séverine Merle. The article explained a timeline of events that caused tension between the two, culminating in the brand trying to take Lisa to become the face of another brand, while Hedi was creating a beauty line. This was seemingly the “straw that broke the camel’s back.
To understand how Celine arrived here, we have to look back. Relations were never perfect between Séverine Merle and Hedi Slimane.
But it was exactly one year ago, in October 2023, when the conflict took another turn. Two incidents accelerated the breakup. First of all, a Celine fashion show planned for la Gaîté Lyrique on July 3rd, 2023 was canceled due to riots in the suburbs. Months of work for nothing.

And worse still, on the same day, the Alaïa parade on le Pont Neuf went ahead.Shortly after, another incident hurt relations. When netizens saw the article, they realized that it didn’t seem like Lisa was removed from the brand and shared that Hedi was so passionate and fond of Lisa that it was the possibility of losing the idol that seemingly led to the resignation.
So Hedi wanted Lisa as the face of the new cosmetics brand launching at Celine but the CEO of Celine didn’t let it happen, canceled Hedis last show without telling him and Lisa left… then hedi packed his bags too…
