Aespa’s Newest Merchandise Takes Heat For Being Overpriced

Will you be buying it?

When they released Armageddon, aespa sold gorgeous CD player versions of their albums. They sold for ₩145,000 KRW (about $106 USD) and were fully functional. Despite the steep pricing, the CD players sold out quickly. Coming with rechargable batteries, an LED display, and the ability to function with Bluetooth, they were considered pricey but reasonable for merchandise.

As aespa makes a comeback with Whiplash, the girls released a special case for the previous CD players. These metallic cases fit with aespa’s futuristic theme and sell for ₩89,000 KRW (about $65.00 USD). They are custom-sized to aespa’s CD players. CD players will not be sold this time.

  • That’s not… LOL
  • Shouldn’t they release more CD players for sale first?
  • The price setting is too much.
  • It’s so pretty, but it’s so expensive.
  • Is the price fr? It’s not like it has any functions, it’s just a case, but for that price?
  • Are otakus their target audience strangely? I recall seeing a broken one on Twitter. It’s so expensive, but it seems like people are still finding it okay to buy.
  • I thought they were good at business while scrolling down without seeing the price. When I saw the price, my eyes popped out. No information on what it’s made of is out yet so we have to wait and see, but the price is so criminal.
  • Are they telling us to spend ₩90,000 KRW (about $65.70 USD) more since we already spent ₩150,000 KRW (about $109 USD)? Yeah not buying.
  • Crazy…
  • Good thing I don’t have my eye on it. Phew.

What do you think?
