Controversial Actor Kim Ji Soo Says Goodbye To His Record-Breaking Series
Following a controversy that received massive backlash in South Korea, actor Kim Ji Soo is continuing his career in the Philippines. So far, he has appeared in a movie and two series, one of which holds an impressive record.
In 2021, Kim Ji Soo was accused of school violence, bullying, sexual harassment, and assault. His agency at the time then terminated his contract, and he was replaced by another actor in the drama Where The River Moon Rises. He enlisted in the military shortly after. In 2023, Ji Soo provided an update on the allegations, stating that the original accuser had since forgiven him. Following his controversy, he hinted at a return to acting.
On August 28, Sparkle GMA Artist Center, a talent agency based in the Philippines, announced that it had signed Ji Soo. The announcement was met with anger from netizens, who condemned Sparkle GMA for its decision and Ji Soo for returning to the spotlight in a different country.

This summer Ji Soo debuted the series Black Rider (July 3). He then appeared in the film Mujigae, released October 9, and the series Abot-Kamay na Pangarap. Abot-Kamay na Pangarap premiered in 2022 and aired its final episode on October 19, 2024. In total, the show has 659 episodes, making it the longest-running drama series on GMA Network.
On Instagram, Ji Soo recently bid farewell to his Abot-Kamay na Pangarap character, Dr. Kim Young. On October 16, he posted a set of on-set photos from the series, including photos of him with various cast members. In the caption he wrote, “Dr. Kim Young last week🥹”
