ILLIT’s “I’LL LIKE YOU” Album Sales Shock With “Disgusting” Buyer Demographics
With ILLIT‘s upcoming comeback album I’LL LIKE YOU, various retailers have already begun taking pre-orders. Recently revealed buyer demographics for the album on Aladdin were revealed.
It was revealed that their largest buyer group were men in their 40s, with it covering 27.8% of the buyers. Next was women in their 30s at 22.2%. Women in their 50s came up to 16.7%, while men in their 60s and 30s were 11.1% each. Last but not least, women in their 20s came up to 5.6%. Many fans were shocked that teens seemed to not be purchasing the albums at all via Aladdin.
A look at a comparison between sales on Weverse for ILLIT’s debut album and I’LL LIKE YOU showed that their demographics suddenly shifted to the older range. With their debut album, girls in their teens made up 13.6% of sales. Their largest demographic then was women in their 20s at 25%, followed by men in their 40s (15.9%) and men in their 20s (13.6%). An equal percentage of 9.1% each for men and women in their 30s showed that the group’s fans were well balanced. They also had some fans in their 50s.
With the new album, sales were largely skewed towards older men.
