Recently, keywords including “Jeongyeon singing replacement,” “Jeongyeon singing,” and “Jeongyeon song lipsync” have been ranking high on the Korean web portal site Naver.

It turns out that the answer to the netizen’s burning questions was revealed slightly during the drama press conference.

At the press conference on October 10, Kim Tae Ri revealed she began studying pansori the moment she was cast for the role.

I started singing lessons the moment I decided to take on the role and practiced dancing, Jeolla dialect, and stage acting after finishing the previous drama.

— Kim Tae Ri

According to industry insiders, Kim Tae Ri has sung about 98% of the singing herself, with 2% being created through sound correction.

Please watch Kim Tae Ri’s version of Bangja…it’s crazy. She breaks the worries that Jeongnyeon will ruin the stage.

The drama seems to be gaining even more popularity due to her taking on the role without any replacements.

Additionally, Shin Ye Eun, who also stars in the drama, mentioned that she personally sang the song for the Bangjajeon scene.

Shin Ye Eun’s acting as Bangja is so good I have goosebumps. When she starts with her eyes closed, it feels like Bangja’s spirit has entered Yeongseo’s body. Jeongnyeon is overwhelmed by Yeongseo’s acting.

Although post-production work could have been used for live performances, the fact that the actor’s voices are included is one of the huge factors that highlight the drama.

Meanwhile, the drama airs every weekend on tvN.
