Korean News Puts OT6 RIIZE Fans On Blast

They praised international fans.

Recently, Seunghan‘s departure from RIIZE was announced. This decision was made within 48 hours after it was announced he would return after a 10-month hiatus. Many international fans have been left confused and heartbroken as a result. Seunghan’s departure from the group appeared to be a result of SM Entertainment giving in to bullying from some Korean fans who protested his return, sending funeral wreaths to the company, as they were angry about his pre-debut lifestyle, as it had been revealed he had a girlfriend and smoked.

Consequently, international fans have been protesting and boycotting RIIZE and SM Entertainment unless Seunghan returns. K-Pop stores worldwide have joined the boycott, even releasing statements that promise not to stock RIIZE products.

Now, even some Korean news are calling out toxic fans.

Arirang TV, an international broadcasting station operated by the Korea International Broadcasting Foundation and based in Seoul, South Korea, reported a feature on “K-Pop artists held to higher moral, ethical standards.” The guests praised international fans’ support for Seunghan while calling out the OT6 fans.

They’re not the most, they’re not the majority, they’re just the loudest and a very vocal, loud minority. The fact that they can wield this much power and influence on an artists career trajectory is shocking.
