According to reports, Lam, a manager from the company which was responsible for the LED screens for the concert, took the stand. When asked whether there were any communications between the relevant parties regarding the weight of the LED screen, to ensure that the wires would not fail, he responded, “It seems like there was,” using words that imply uncertainty.

Additionally, when the defense questioned him, they pointed out that on July 27, the day before the incident, someone had already noted one of the LED screens was slanted and told Lam to get back to the venue to inspect the problem.

Lam confirmed the defense’s claims and revealed that the issue rested within the height of the wires and was, therefore, not related to the LED screen. As such, he contacted another company that was also working on the project. Someone from that company climbed up to inspect the top of the LED screen.

The defense then asked, “Did anyone say that if the LED screen isn’t safe, then it should be taken down?” Lam responded, “Nope.” This LED screen ended up being the one that fell.

WTF…from declaring the weight and putting everything together to the materials and inspections, everything had an issue. And the screen was even already slanted the day before? This world is absurd…

  • “If these people were actually on stage performing, I want to know if they would’ve worked like this. I’m so pissed off; I can’t put it into words.”

  • “‘This LED screen ended up being the one which fell.’ F*ck these people.”
