In early October, it was confirmed that the three former members of FIFTY FIFTY would be debuting as a new group called ablume. While fans have welcomed this development with open arms, the KMF condemned their new career move. In its statement, the federation accused the former three members of “tampering” that caused its member agency ATTRAKT to suffer significant damages and expressed concerns about their return to the industry.

“It is very regrettable that the three former FIFTY FIFTY members, who were involved in the tampering, are trying to avoid responsibility for their actions, signing contracts with other agencies, and continuing activities as if nothing happened.”

The federation further claimed that the members’ attempt to re-launch their careers was unethical as it went against their existing contractual obligations. They implied that it would have larger ramifications, disrupting the reliability of the entertainment industry and nullifying the binding power of contracts.

The KMF also added that they will take legal measures to prevent any tampering-led damages and respond more proactively to similar cases to prevent them from recurring. They called on industry insiders to join them in this move.

Meanwhile, ATTRAKT, the agency behind FIFTY FIFTY, recently filed a lawsuit against Warner Music Korea for ₩20.0 billion KRW (about $14.4 million USD). Read more about it here.
