FTISLAND To Replace Choi Minhwan For Upcoming Performance Amid Prostitution Scandal
FTISLAND‘s Choi Minhwan is currently embroiled in a major controversy after his ex-wife Yulhee accused him of visiting brothels and karaoke rooms with service girls and even released damning audio recordings to support the allegations.
Since the scandal broke, criticism against Minhwan has been mounting. Though the idol has suspended all media activities, he performed with FTISLAND at a Seoul concert, much to the anger of netizens.
He also performed with the group at their Taiwan concert on October 26. However, he participated in the performances only from backstage and didn’t appear in public. He also didn’t participate in the goodbye session.
With the group’s performance at the 2024 Grand Mint Festival approaching, there is confusion around how Minhwan will be accommodated into the show, given his apparent avoidance of public appearances at the moment.
On October 26, KST, FNC Entertainment addressed this issue in a statement, clarifying that Minhwan will be replaced for the performance.
Choi Min Hwan’s drum position will be filled by a session musician, while the other FTISLAND members plan to perform as scheduled based on the prepared setlist without any issues.
We apologize to the Grand Mint Festival organizers and the fans and audience who experienced confusion. We kindly ask for your understanding.
