Former DAY6 member Jae (also known as eaJ) shocked his fans when he uploaded a post via X (formerly Twitter) that sounded much like these scams. He advised fans that if he were to ever ask for money, he would only want them to donate via the link attached.
If you click the link, you’ll be sent to a website where you can donate to help people in Gaza gain access to the Internet via eSIMs.
Since October 2023, the death toll in the Gaza Strip has reportedly surpassed at least 43,061 people, including 16,765 children, according to Al Jazeera, while at least 101,223 people have been injured due to Israeli attacks. More than 10,000 are missing, and Palestinians in Gaza are struggling to survive as they are starving, displaced, and lost homes, family, and friends.
Israelβs policies and actions in its ongoing occupation and administration of the Palestinian territories have drawn accusations that it is committing the crime of apartheid. Leading Palestinian, Israeli and international human rights groups have said that the totality and severity of the human rights violations against the Palestinians residing in the occupied territories, and by some in Israel proper, amount to the crime against humanity of apartheid. Israel and some of its Western allies have rejected the accusation, with the former often labeling the charge antisemitic.

Initially, fans thought eaJ was just making fun of scammers who attempted to impersonate him. Yet, they realized he was just clickbaiting them for a worthy cause.
