BTS’s Jin Exposes Chef Baek Jong Won’s Jealousy Over Chef Lee Yeon Bok
While BTS‘s Jin claims he doesn’t have many friends, he has two well-known friends besides BTS. Chefs Baek Jong Won and Lee Yeon Bok are both known to be great friends of his. He became friends after meeting them on variety show Run BTS! in 2021 and Please Take Care Of My Refrigerator in 2017, respectively.
Unexpectedly, Chef Baek got jealous of Chef Lee because of Jin!
Jin recently guested on Jang Do Yeon‘s Salon Drip to promote his upcoming solo album HAPPY. During the episode, she asked, “How are you close with so many chefs?” Jin explained how he got close to them.
When I was on that show [Became friends] he gave me his business card. [and invited JIN to his restaurant] The gold business card he has. I wasn’t super successful back then. I only had like five, six friends? I only made five, six friends since I debuted. ‘I don’t have anyone to go with. Can I just go by myself?’ ‘You can come whenever. I’ll be here.’ He told me that.

Later in the episode, Jin revealed a “TMI.” One day, he called Chef Baek Jong Won for cooking advice. Chef Baek exclaimed, telling Jin to ask Lee Yeon Bok instead since he heard they were close.
It was the day I was making dongpo pork. I called him to ask him about dongpo pork, and he was like, ‘Hey! I heard you are close with Chef Lee Yeon Bok, too!’ ‘I’m close with him.’ ‘Then just ask chef Lee Yeon Bok! Why are you asking me?’ ‘Are you jealous’ ‘No! He is the Chinese food expert! Ask him!’

Despite the back-and-forth, Chef Baek Jong Won still gave Jin the recipe!
‘So petty! Why are you jealous about that?’ [Finished the phone call with words of love] But even so he still told me the recipe in detail.
