Recently, he guested on Episode 64 of Jang Do Yeon‘s Salon Drip 2 to promote his upcoming solo album HAPPY. She asked him if she could call him “WWH” (Worldwide Handsome), to which he consented. She wasn’t aware he was the one who originated the nickname from the start!

Jin: A lot of people like calling me that and I’m a celebrity, so…

Jang Do Yeon: Then have you ever said “I’m WWH” yourself?

Jin: I made that nickname myself! “World Wide Handsome.”

Jang Do Yeon: Is that so?

Jin: I’m internationally handsome. Of course, there are a lot of people who are better-looking than me, but that doesn’t make me ugly.

Jang Do Yeon: That’s true.

Jin: Because of that mindset, and I think I’m handsome too so I confidently tell people that I am.

Later, Jin talked about his friendship with Chef Baek Jong Won. He exposed some of his jealous tendencies and “cooking skills,” so Jang Do Yeon asked if they needed to edit this portion. Jin claimed it was okay, revealing they insult each other for jokes.

Jin: I respect him and trust him, so it’s okay. It’s how we are. He tells me I’m ugly too!

Jang Do Yeon: To each other?

Jin: Yes! I think it’s okay to attack each other on things that we are confident about.

Jang Do Yeon: That’s true.

Jin explained they only tease each other on things they’re respectively confident about. For instance, he doesn’t mind people telling him he’s ugly because he knows it’s a lie.

Jin: When someone tells me I’m ugly, I laugh it off. I just think, “That’s nonsense.”

Jang Do Yeon: That’s a strong shield you have. That person and look into the mirror and get sad.

Jin: I know people are joking when they call me ugly.

Jang Do Yeon: You have such a healthy mindset.

Later, Jin also revealed how he handles adverse comments or unexpected situations. He thinks his mindset is his greatest strength now. Post-discharge, Jin has been able to respond to it all with, “It’s okay because I’m a superstar.”

Jin: When something unexpected happens, I just think, “That’s obvious, because I’m a superstar!” I started thinking that way after I was discharged from the military. Anytime I hear something, I just go, “That’s bound to happen because I’m a superstar.”

Jang Do Yeon: Is there a reason why you started thinking that way, or you just found that solution yourself?

Jin: I once said it out loud, and I realized it was a good resolution. So every time I heard something negative, I would habitually say, “It’s okay because I’m a superstar.” And I would end up thinking that it was nothing after all.

Jin truly has such a healthy mindset! We could all learn something from him.
