Popular Influencers “Hate-Crimed” By Last Person They’d Expect
A video of Korean American social media influencers, the Ha Sisters, consisting of HJ Evelyn, Erica, and Emily, who boast millions of subscribers, is going viral.
Recently, HJ Evelyn posted a new video to the YouTube channel titled “Eating ONLY at Korean convenience foods for 24 hours! (we got hate crimed),” which garnered 1.4M views at the time of writing. A video clip has now circulated on social media.
While the sisters filmed a mukbang in a convenience store in Korea, a woman continually harassed them. Initially, she told them to speak quietly and asked if they were filming there. It didn’t stop there, though. She raised her voice while calling them “b*tches,” “beggars,” “broke,” “Chinese,” and more. They believe it was a racist/xenophobic attack, as the woman thought they were not Korean.

The clip went viral on TikTok with 11.9M views at the time of writing. Both followers and non-followers were shocked by how much the incident escalated and continued for so long with no staff or fellow patrons involved. Netizens commended the Ha sisters for how they maturely handled such an unpleasant and dehumanizing situation.
While the Ha sisters were victims, they still pushed through with a good attitude, even attempting to give the woman the benefit of the doubt. They were concerned that she was going through a rough time at work and was ill, intoxicated, etc.
