Controversial 40-Years-Younger Wife Locked In Legal Battle With Late Husband’s Son And More
The widow of famed Taiwanese songwriter Lee Kun Cheng is now locked in a legal battle with her late husband’s son. She has also been convicted of theft and banned from certain establishments.
Lee and his 40-years-younger bride, Lin Jing En, made headlines when they announced their engagement in 2017. Lin was only 17 years old when she began dating her husband-to-be, who was in his late 50s at the time. Although the couple faced plenty of backlash, no one was more against the nuptials than Lin’s father, then a close friend of Lee.
We owe no one an explanation why we are together.
The media hype and the public attention here (in Taichung, Taiwan) have spiraled out of control. I don’t understand why people find it incredulous that a young, sweet girl can fall hopelessly in love with an old man.
And by the way, who says 57 is old?

Lin’s father tried to sue Lee to force him to call off the wedding but lost the case. In February 2023, 66-year-old Lee married Lin, 26, in the ICU, two months before Lee passed away from cancer.
After Lee’s death, Lin reportedly sold the house she inherited a house from Lee along with other valuables before moving into a hotel. She is now embroiled with her late husband’s son in legal disputes over inheritance. Just over a month after Lee’s passing, Lee’s son reportedly accused Lin of taking advantage of his father’s death, not dealing with the family’s inheritance taxes, withdrawing all the money from his father’s bank account, selling his father’s car, and vandalizing the family home. He claimed that although Lin had destroyed some items, he was able to save the family’s ancestral altar.
Lin has also been fined 3,000 yuan (approximately $415 USD) and ordered to complete community service for thefts. The court found Lin guilty of stealing a drink from a convenience store in March and taking a 26-year-old man’s food that he’d left outside an apartment building in July. Lin, who is currently unemployed and struggling financially, has also been banned from some establishments after causing property damage at hotels.
