The previously released concept photos had a more fun and eccentric aesthetic, featuring each member with a different prop. It was YangYang‘s photos specifically that raised eyebrows, as they sparked plagiarism suspicions.
Naturally, many WayV fans loved the photoshoot. They praised YangYang in the comment section of the social media posts.
However, netizens found YangYang’s photoshoot a little too similar to TXT Yeonjun‘s concept for his solo album GGUM. They pointed out multiple similarities, such as the use of bright pink bubblegum, the teeth pose, the animated character, similar hairstyle, etc.
This is so shameless 😭 where the FCK is the originality??? pic.twitter.com/LXfYOuf7wS

Some fans of WayV even admitted they couldn’t deny the similarities. Still, netizens emphasized it’s not the artist’s fault but the company’s.
Ngl they did copy that imo 🤣 it's too similar and I'm a WayV fan. Blame the creative team because most of the time the artists don't have a say in the visual concept unless they explicitly say so.
Anyway WayV cb soon!! (I'm curious and I'll listen Yeonjun song hehe) https://t.co/FgUKwDYQmk— ,, (@cloudynym) November 11, 2024
On the other hand, some WayV fans jumped to their defense, saying it’s generally SM Entertainment’s style. They argued that one could say that TXT had plagiarised the NCT members.
What the fuck are you guys talking about? It’s totally SM visual style and NCT DREAM comes even early. Oh I forgot your so-called solo was produced by SM too. SURPRISE!!! pic.twitter.com/Fg4IP7iGrz
