NewJeans Serves ADOR With Legal Notification Of Potential Contract Termination Should Conditions Not Be Met
It was reported by Yonhap News that NewJeans served a certificate of contents to ADOR on November 13, 2024. The certificate stated that if “the company does not accept their requests, their exclusive contract would be terminated.”
A certificate of contents is commonly used in Korea for claims for damages and notification of contract terminations. It is a document that denotes gains and losses, and changes in claims and debt-related performance matters between individuals and companies. It needs to be certified by the post office.
According to officials in the industry, NewJeans sent the document using their legal names, Kim Minji, Hanni Pham, Danielle Marsh, Kang Haerin, and Lee Hyein. They requested that ADOR respond to their requests that were made in accordance with ADOR’s alleged violation of their exclusive contract and rectify them within 14 days of receipt.
Yonhap News published a page of the document.
A portion of the document touched on HYBE’s recently revealed internal documents which contained negative plans and opinions about NewJeans.
