Here Are All The Winners From The 2024 “Korean Grand Music Awards” Day 2

During the first day of the awards show, EXO’s D.O. was in attendance and performed “Small Girl” with Lee Youngji.

However, some expressed mixed emotions about the first award he was announced to win.

On a now-viral tweet announcing his win, many were confused about how he qualified for the “Best R&B” category.

This confusion is likely linked to D.O.’s previous music releases, as the talented idol’s music has consisted of several ballads and tracks that many felt did not fall under the R&B category.

While D.O.’s music does range in genre, with some tracks that could be considered R&B, there does seem to be an explanation for this unexpected award.

For many of the award show’s categories, fan voting was included as a part of the formula for deciding the winner of the award. D.O heavily led the voting for this category throughout the voting process.

However, during the voting process, it was announced that the category that was known as “Best Ballad” would be changed to “Best R&B.”

So, while this may explain some confusion over his win, many joked that this could manifest a full R&B album from the idol.
