Hyeri Gets Mistaken For aespa’s Karina After Unbelievable Makeover
Recently, idol-turned-actress Hyeri got mistaken on the street by a passerby as aespa’s Karina, thanks to an incredible makeup transformation.
This makeover was for the latest video on Hyeri’s YouTube channel, where she aimed to recreate Karina’s look in aespa’s new music video, “Whiplash.” Since the two are close friends in real life, Hyeri bragged that she met Karina the previous day and even borrowed the headband she originally wore in the music video.
Makeup artist Lee Myung Sun, who works with popular girl groups like BLACKPINK, LE SSERAFIM, and MEOVV, took charge of Hyeri’s makeup transformation into Karina. She replicated the “Whiplash” look with immense attention to detail, making Hyeri joke, “Today, I am truly Hyerina. It’s no joke. If I show up at a music show, people will think there are two Karinas!”
After completing the transformation, Hyeri shared her photos with Karina, who was left flabbergasted.
Karina: Unnie..
Karina: You look too pretty. Really.
Karina: Honestly.
Karina: Legendary.
Karina: So pretty. Wow.
Hyeri then stepped out in her new Karina avatar, walking around the streets of Apgujeong and encountering fans on the streets. While her fans immediately recognized her and complimented her on the look, a passerby actually mistook her for Karina. Hyeri was over the moon to hear the comment, as it denoted that her makeover challenge was a success!
