RIIZE’s Anton References Seunghan Situation In “Heartbreaking” Speech At “2024 MAMA Awards”
On November 21, The 2024 MAMA Awards (Mnet Asian Music Awards) began its first night of events at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California. This year, the event has been stretched to three nights off events, with the second and third taking place November 22 and 23 at the Kyocera Dome in Osaka, Japan
Boy group RIIZE attended, and many felt emotional after their award acceptance speech.
RIIZE started the night at the event by performing a cover of NCT 127’s “Kick It” to the excitement of attendees. This came after their attention-getting red carpet, with each member looking dapper.

The group also were the second of the night to earn an award, taking home the award for Favorite Global Performer Award (Male). The members gave speeches in different languages, with Anton delivering his in English.
The idol seemed to directly refer to the situation surrounding former member Seunghan, and the related protests.
After asking attendees to wish Sohee a happy birthday, Anton thanked fans saying that they “really were grateful for being there” for the group. He then mentioned that a lot had happened in the last year, saying “I’m sure many of us are aware of what’s happened.”
He then said that there had been “many events,” but stated that all the members could do was promise fans that they would work hard and try to show the best versions of themselves.
