(G)I-DLE’s Soyeon Gives Update About Her Contract Renewal With CUBE Entertainment
(G)I-DLE Soyeon‘s contract with CUBE Entertainment was reported to expire in November.
There have been a lot of speculations about the idol’s next move, with the latest update coming in October as reports claimed Soyeon was leaving CUBE.
Following months of speculation, Soyeon directly addressed the rumors during an appearance on the YouTube channel FreestyleDingo.
During the video, one of the hosts pointed out how contract renewal can be a sensitive subject, but Soyeon explained that they’re all freelancers with a beginning and end, as contacts inevitably end.
Unsurprisingly, Soyeon was asked directly about her own contract renewal. When asked if she was leaving, Soyeon explained that she wasn’t sure but was in discussions with CUBE.
Soyeon showcased her love for the members by explaining, “For me and the members, it’s all about finding the best environment to keep making music,” adding that it was why everything was taking longer.
They are trying to figure out how to keep making music in the best way possible.
Soyeon explained how she feels like a “mother” to the members but also that they are her closest friends.
For Soyeon, she is focusing on the best way for the group to keep going “together.”
Even the host wanted to know when the decision would be made, and Soyeon explained that she wanted it wrapped up ASAP to end her “free agent status,” putting a limit of the end of November.
