Mnet Faces Backlash For Sudden Cancelation Of “Road To Kingdom: Ace Of Ace” Concert
On December 2, it was confirmed that the Road to Kingdom: ACE OF ACE concert was canceled.
The production company announced that the concert scheduled for January 4-5, 2025, at the KSPO Dome was canceled due to “unavoidable circumstances.”
This concert was to feature the top five from Mnet’s Road To Kingdom show, but unfortunately, ticket sales were low.
“This is the production company for the ‘Road to Kingdom: ACE OF ACE’ concert.
The concert scheduled for January 4-5 at the KSPO Dome has been canceled due to unavoidable circumstances. We sincerely apologize to the fans who have been waiting for this concert.
Due to the cancellation, all tickets purchased after today, December 2, will be canceled, and the full amount, including the reservation fee, will be refunded. We ask for everyone’s understanding and will do our best to process the refund ASAP.
Once again, we apologize to the fans looking forward to the show. Please make sure to check the cancellation and refund guide. Thank you.”
However, it seemed that most netizens saw this coming as they felt it would be a reach to fill out a big venue.
- “I knew it would be canceled.”
- “Wouldn’t it fill up if they sold tickets to each group’s fans?”
- “I did feel like they rented out a big venue, but sure enough…”
- “Why…”
- “The groups on the show don’t have a big fanbase to start with…”
- “It’s hard to fill up KSPO Dome..”
- “What was Mnet thinking? I feel bad for the idols who were preparing for the show. The only benefit from the show is appearing on KCON, isn’t it?”
- “It would’ve been fine if they rented out a smaller venue…”
- “Did they rent out KSPO so they could cancel? Who thought it was okay to choose KSPO for three days?”
- “KSPO? It’s too big.”
- “Are they joking around with KSPO? It’s a shame.”
- “Where did they get the confidence to rent out KSPO.”
- “They shouldn’t have rented out KSPO in the first place. It’s even hard for other idols to fill it up.”
- “The venue is too big…”
- “KSPO for three days? That’s a bit of a reach.”
- “Not one day, but three? What were they thinking.”
- “Wow, for three days?”
- “They should have just done one day.”
- “It was a reach choosing KSPO. What was Mnet thinking.”
