NewJeans’ Fandom Takes Legal Action Against HYBE, Source Music, And Dispatch
NewJeans‘ fandom, Bunnies, have filed a criminal report against HYBE and Source Music, as well as Dispatch. This comes after Dispatch’s flaming exposé about Min Hee Jin, where they implicated the girls through photos obtained through stalking.
Dispatch Exposes Min Hee Jin’s Alleged Lies With Damning Photos
It was reported that OPES, the legal firm representing Bunnies, filed a complaint to the Yongsan Police Station in Seoul on accounts of violating the Personal Information Protection Act and violating the Information and Communication Network Act, requesting for the three parties to be held accountable for information leakage and defamation.
The legal representative stated that “although HYBE is the parent company of ADOR, it cannot illegally collect and leak personal information about the CEO and artists of its subsidiaries or leak confidential information acquired for business to a third party, and this is the same for Source Music, another subsidiary of HYBE. In addition, internet creators who have illegally received the personal information collected and leaked as above, have been creating content and spread malicious comments about NewJens, are making the damage worse, greatly undermining NewJeans’ reputation.”
Previously, Dispatch also reported some of the text conversations that Min Hee Jin shared with other ADOR executives and a shaman. Dispatch claimed that Min Hee Jin had used immoral ways to take NewJeans away from Source Music. Lee Hyun Kon, a lawyer at Saeol Law Office stated, “If the leaked Kakao Talk conversations were provided internally within the company, including to the HYBE public relations team, this is a serious personal information leakage, and the act of writing an article knowing this intention could also be illegal.”
Bunnies have stated that they will continue to file complaints against the malicious articles and posts related to NewJeans following Dispatch’s explosive article.
