Actress Gong Min Jung shocked reporters and fans after revealing her pregnancy during the press conference for her latest K-Drama.

Taking place on December 2 at the Stanford Hotel in Seoul, the press conference was held to prepare for the release of Gong’s upcoming series Sorry Not Sorry. It featured the main cast including Gong Min Jung, Jeon So Min, Jang Hee Ryung, Choi Daniel, and Kim Moo Joon, along with director Min Ji Young.

Sorry Not Sorry is a romantic comedy centered around Ji Song, a woman faking marriage while dealing with the ups and downs of love and life in the fictional Cheonpo New Town. Gong Min Jung plays Choi Hana, a driven working mom who tackles every challenge — pregnancy included — with meticulous organization and detailed spreadsheets.

During the press event, Gong Min Jung candidly shared her personal connection to the role. Shocking everyone when revealing that she, too, is pregnant — just like her character. She even shared that the character wasn’t meant to be pregnant at first, but the writers and producers adjusted the story following her pregnancy.

I was fortunate enough to be cast as Hana in Sorry Not Sorry.

Initially, the character wasn’t written as pregnant, but I’m grateful to the writer and production team for adjusting the script to include it. As a mother-to-be, I felt there were things I could authentically portray, so I’m thankful to be part of this project.

Meanwhile, Gong made waves earlier this year with the hit K-Drama Marry My Husband. Following the show, she tied the knot with fellow actor and costar Jang Jae Ho earlier this September.
