THE BOYZ’s New Agency Gives Official Statement About Their Trademark Rights

THE BOYZ‘s new agency One Hundred has released an official statement on December 5, 2024, to address IST Entertainment‘s previous claims about having given THE BOYZ’s their trademark rights for free. Although they deny that IST Entertainment had provided it for free, they have recognized that the negotiations about the matter have already concluded, and THE BOYZ will be free to use the name as they want from now on.

This is One Hundred.

Kakao Entertainment subsidiary IST Entertainment previously made a statement that they gave THE BOYZ’s their trademark rights to use for free. This is not true.

If IST Entertainment had truly given the use of the trademark rights to THE BOYZ for free as per their statement, then for the sake of The Bs and THE BOYZ, One Hundred would definitely protect the trademark rights that the artist would take over, for the period of our exclusive contract with the artists.

But yesterday, we determined that two out of the three conditions that IST Entertainment provided us with were not aligned with the artists’ benefit. As such, we cannot see that IST Entertainment is providing the trademark rights to THE BOYZ for free.

As per their offer, IST Entertainment would be taking the profits that should go to the members in return for providing THE BOYZ with not only the trademark rights to their name, but also for other trademarks. We would like to stress once more that this means that it is not free.

But, the artists have recognized that IST Entertainment statement from yesterday has already made it possible to use the trademark right without any negotiation conditions for THE BOYZ’s smooth activities and The B. Therefore, we will also recognize that negotiations for the use of free trademark rights between IST Entertainment and artists have been completed.

As such, we are truly sorry for worrying The Bs with such an unsavory matter, even before THE BOYZ have moved companies. In the future, One Hundred will continue to work hard so that the artists and fans can enjoy activities happily. Thank you for taking the time to read the long statement.
