Girl Group Fan Goes Viral For Attending Fan Call From The National Assembly

She is committed to both priorities!

A girl group fan has taken Korean online communities by storm for her unshakeable commitment to her favorite K-Pop artist and her country simultaneously.

Recently, a Korean netizen shared an anecdote about an online friend who joined an online fan call while she was at the National Assemly, protesting against the current South Korean President. The fan was one of the thousands of South Korean citizens who have taken to the streets, demanding President Yoon Suk Yeol‘s impeachment after he abruptly declared martial law on December 3. Though he withdrew it six hours later due to the fierce resistance of citizens and the opposition, the country has since come together asking for him to be removed from power and held accountable.

The OP who shared the story of their online friend also added that the idol who was on the other side of the call recognized that the fan was at the National Assembly and cheered her on for attending the protest.

Wow, my Twitter friend attended a fan call at the National Assembly. As soon as the call connected, the member heard the sounds and went, ‘Unnie! Are you…there??’ It was so f*cking funny.

She kept telling her to be careful and then right before disconnecting the call, she said, ‘Unnie, you’re cool!! Your doing even my share!! Fighting!!’ Ah TT.

The idol in question turned out to be CLASS:y member Seonyou, a ’08-born maknae of the group. Despite her young age, Seonyou has not shied away from taking a stance amid the political turmoil of her country. The idol had also put up a candle emoji as her status on the fan communication platform, Bubble, to show her solidarity with the pro-impeachment protests.
