Chaeyeon has gained attention for her comments directly addressing a fan’s comment that implied she shouldn’t be vocal about politics because of her celebrity status.
The remarks came in the context of South Korea’s ongoing political turmoil. Citizens and opposition politicians are pushing for President Yoon Suk Yeol’s impeachment after he tried to establish martial law on December 3, KST.

Amid all the comments of support towards Chaeyeon and her thoughts on the marches, there were hateful comments referring to “manipulation” during the Produce series, including Produce 48 which Chaeyeon participated in and made the final debut lineup of IZ*ONE.
