BTS Jin’s Variety Show Accused Of “Propaganda”

Some think it’s to increase Korea’s birth rate.

BTS Jin‘s variety show, Run Jin, aired its Episode 13 today. The concept initially appeared to be a blind date

…only for Jin’s “date” to be revealed as a “playdate” with a three-year-old boy, Taeha.

Throughout the episode “Don’t Watch This If You Don’t Want to Marry Jin,” the two became more comfortable eating and playing together. Jin, an uncle in real life, is naturally good with kids.

Seeing Jin act so caringly with an adorable child made ARMYs feel a lot of emotions, thinking how wonderful of a father he would be. It was like an edit come to life!

Some couldn’t help but feel that the episode was low-key propaganda, as South Korea is known to have one of the lowest birth rates in the world. Earlier this year, South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol declared a “national emergency on population,” and the government has attempted to brainstorm solutions to the problem.

Variety shows, such as Hello Baby, have been accused of being propaganda to increase birth rates, too.
