Former MADEIN member Gaeun | 143 Entertainment

Gaeun officially left MADEIN on November 28 after she accused the CEO of 143 Entertainment of sexually assaulting her. After the departure announcement, she unfollowed the official MADEIN social media account, along with that of her former agency. However, she was still following her group members.

A few days after Gaeun’s departure, she and the Japanese members of the group unfollowed one another, except Mashiro. Though it is uncertain which side unfollowed first, many fans were concerned that the Japanese members, who live far away from home, might have been pressurized by the label.

But the situation grew more concerning for fans after most MADEIN members unfollowed all accounts on Instagram, bringing their “following” count to zero. MiU was the only member who didn’t follow suit. At this point, Gaeun was still following Mashiro, Yeseo, and Suhye, but she soon unfollowed Suhye.

MiU, on the other hand, unfollowed Gaeun but has continued to follow the rest of MADEIN members, raising doubts about whether the social media unfollows were really done under company pressure.

All the MADEIN members’ social media activities have sparked apprehension about their current relationship and whether the existing members are under any unfair pressure from the company. Meanwhile, 143 Entertainment has denied the accusations of sexual assault, vowing to disclose evidence “if necessary.” Read more about it here.
