Popular Female Idol Admits She Was On The Brink Of Quitting Before Debut
Recently, Kwon Eunbi appeared on a YouTube series and shared the difficult times she overcame to debut.
I debuted as Ye-A when I was 20, but it didn’t work out. After that debut, I spent four years as a trainee. Those four years were the toughest.

Host Lee Su Geun felt for her as it would’ve been hard to prepare for debut again.
“I didn’t go to university until I was 24. When I turned 25, I felt like I couldn’t debut anymore because I was too old compared to the other trainees. So I thought, ‘What will I do at 25?” and decided to attend university.
So, at 24, I took the college entrance exam and got into Dong-ah Institute of Media and Arts. I thought to myself that after a year of balancing university, if I thought I’d done enough and it still didn’t work out, then I should quit at 25.”

But just as she was going to give up, an unexpected opportunity arose.
But then during freshman orientation, I got the sudden offer for ‘Produce 101’. So, I did that show at 24 and debuted that year as IZ*ONE.

If it weren’t for that show, she felt that she wouldn’t know where she would be now.
Korean netizens felt with her mindset she would be able to anything.
- “She seems smart and cool. She seems like the type that can do anything well.”
- “She is probably earning way more now.”
- “She really must’ve felt frustrated being a trainee at 24.”
- “First chapter: Ye-A. Second chapter: IZ*ONE. Third chapter: Waterbomb.”
