Some people describe their wedding day as the happiest day of their life, but one bride wasn’t having any of that nonsense. In fact, she looked like she’d rather be anywhere else!
A 29-year-old Chinese woman named Ash Yuan Yuan went viral after sharing a video clip from her wedding on Xiaohongshu (China’s Instagram). In it, Ash could be seen holding En Bao, her napping one-year-old daughter, while posing for photos with her husband and their guests. Ash would smile just long enough for the photographer to snap a photo…
…most of the time she looked like this. Completely, utterly annoyed. The best part might be that her husband seemed completely oblivious to what was happening right beside him.
In the post caption, Ash wrote, “Who is this person who has to put her kid to sleep while wearing a Joli Poli wedding gown!! Oh, it’s me, it’s me!” Ash went on to describe how she balanced feeling frustrated and acting like a loving mother, writing, “And the next moment, I had to change my expression again for the photo. Only mothers can understand this feeling.”
If it weren’t for the COVID-19 pandemic, this viral moment wouldn’t have happened. Ash and her husband actually tied the knot two years ago, two months before she became pregnant with their child. Because of the pandemic, the couple waited until after En Bao was born to celebrate their nuptials with friends and family.
