On November 29, NewJeans released an official statement announcing the termination of exclusive contracts with ADOR.

In their statement, the group directly attributed this to their previously made demands not being met and issues remaining unresolved between them and the company.

Since then, the group has continued activities, though while completing them, have not used the name NewJeans. During a recent performance in Japan, the group actually gained attention for the way they “hid” the name, committing to their actions fully.

Many have wondered how the usage of their name would be resolved, and it seems the group has revealed how.

On December 14, Dee Shin Dongle, the director of many of NewJeans’ music video shared a story on Instagram of what appeared to be a painting of flowers. The director also tagged an account, @jeanzforfree.

Another user that has worked with the group on their music videos also shared a similar story, this time of an angel speaking to a rabbit, tagging the same account.

The @jeanzforfree account features an image of the group’s backs as the profile photo, and while some might have had doubts over the account’s validity, the members of the group quickly changed that.

On the account’s Instagram Stories, NewJeans shared clips of themselves, sharing that they would be “living” on this account now.

Some fans believe the username is a hint at their possible new name being Jeanz, and are excited over the possibilities.
