The “Debut” music video was released this summer, but a clip from the chorus is currently going viral. The choreography showcases the members in a formation made for 5 people, despite having 6 members in the group.

Netizens noticed that at least one of the members with darker skin, Manon and Lara, remained in the back for the entire clip.

Particularly, Manon was placed behind a member and was unable to be seen for over 25 seconds.

Many netizens felt that the formation choices were a blatant display of colorism and racism.

However, others claimed that the choices for the choreography were based on bringing the more talented members forward. Additionally, formations for songs like “Touch” equally showcase all of the members.
