Three Korean Actors Crowned For 2024’s “Worst Acting” By Industry Insiders

Korean media outlet Sports Kyunghyang has been holding an annual “Sanddalki (Raspberry) Awards” since 2017, similar to the American “Golden Raspberry Awards,” which honors the worst of cinematic “failures.” The 8th Sanddalki Awards revealed its  winner list on December 25, including the names of the actors who the panelists found to be the “worst actors” of this year.

1. Kang Dong Won

The senior actor received 11 votes for his acting in the movie, The Plot. He was criticized as the main reason for the movie’s failure as panelists called him insufficient as an actor despite 21 years in the industry.

2. “None Of The Above”

10 of the panelists voted for the “none” option, implying that no actor on the list was worthy of the second place.

3. Ju Ji Hoon

Ju Ji Hoon was crowned the third worst actor of this year by eight panelists for his performance in Project Silence. Some of the negative reviews surrounding him accused him of over-acting.

4. Song Joong Ki and Song Seung Hun

With seven votes each, Song Joong Ki and Song Seung Hun tied for the fourth place, the former for My Name Is Loh kiwan and the latter for Hidden Face. Song Joong Ki was criticized for his inconsistent acting and his attempted Yanbian accent in the movie. Meanwhile, Song Seung Hun was flamed for his flat performance and lack of emotional depth in his latest movie.
